Frivolous, Fraudulent Invocation of EXECUTIVE PRIVILEGE, Anyone?

Since you’re at this site, you’ve probably been paying attention and you’re probably disgusted, if not absolutely out-raged, at the Bush Administration’s refusal to be accountable to anyone or anything—not to the American People; not to Congress; not to International Law; not to our Constitution; and not even to our own Courts.

Presidential Pardons are certainly not a rarity. The recent commutation of prison time for Scooter Libby by Mr. Bush, however, was the first time in our nation’s history that any kind of clemency was granted to someone who was a potential key witness against the president granting it.

In an effort to finally make the Bush Administration accountable [after 6 years of free, unchecked rule], the current Congress is trying to pry information out of them but is meeting every kind of resistance and delay tactic possible. Administration staffers and ex-staffers are invoking ‘Executive Privilege’ almost anytime they don’t want to answer questions. Selective amnesia is a common ploy as well.

A congressman recently asked an ex-staffer if a conversation regarding Justice Department firings took place between her and President Bush. She stated that, at the insistence of the White House, she was invoking Executive Privilege—the equivalent of a GAG ORDER. The contents of such a conversation might arguably be protected under the cloak of Executive Privilege—however, the question as to whether the conversation even took place is not—not even close.

It’s becoming more and more apparent, even to the most cautious & skeptical observers, that the administration intends to continue their stonewalling until the ‘clock runs out’ on their 2nd term. Some folks simply don’t what to know the truth—do you?

Thanks to the incredible foresight of our forefathers, there is a way to put a stop to the stonwalling–IMPEACHMENT!

“There are no holds barred on impeachment investigations.” EXECUTIVE PRIVILEGE will no longer be a shield for Bush & Cheney to hide behind!

Study Nixon's record carefully. The Nixon tapes, now available at the Nixon Library website—particularly the March 21, 1973 tape—are the equivalent to the E-mails that Cheney/Bush are trying to hide now. Interestingly, Fred Fielding who is the front man for Bush now, was Nixon's ‘vice-attorney’ in 1972-73, and learned from the masters of cover-up back then. Check him out on Google—a right wing hack for years, who has always been a neo-con apologist.

Neo-cons are calling today’s investigation attempts by Congress a ‘witch hunt’. Caring, patriotic citizens call it a quest for ‘truth in government’. They are demanding the truth on many accounts.

At the top of the list of questions are:

“How deliberate and deceitful was the selection of information/intelligence that the Bush Administration chose to make available to the American People and Congress; and how much did they chose to withhold because it was contrary to their pre-conceived case for war on Iraq?” [By many reliable accounts their burning desire to invade Iraq was well before the attacks of 9/11.]

“How badly did they want to wage war 'in spite of' the Intel given to them, not 'because of' the Intel given to them?”

Just a few weeks ago, Colin Powell, on Meet the Press, said that Intel was withheld from him by the administration prior to his infamous ‘Mushroom Cloud’ address to the UN.

If a country is led into war through a series of mistakes and misjudgments, that’s simply regrettable and unfortunate. Incompetence is not an impeachable offense.

If a country is led into war through a series of deliberate deceptions, that is nothing short of TREASON!! Treason is most definitely an impeachable offense!!

LET THE TRUTH BE KNOWN!! PUT A STOP TO THE STONEWALLING!! DEMAND IMPEACHMENT!!

Please write, call, or email your Congressperson, your Senators, and Nancy Pelosi. Tell them that IMPEACHMENT MUST BE PUT BACK ON THE TABLE!!!
